Taskmaster

In Te Ngahere we have been doing taskmaster. We had to get in to a group of three.  My team was Wairua and Jayden. Someone had to be a repeater,  a drawer and a talker. I was a talker,  Jayden was the repeater and Wairua was the drawer. We all got some paper and we had try to make a robot. It was hard but we did it. The next day we were going to see who made the best robot and we were seeing what  looks like the picture. Have you ever make a robot without looking at the picture?

Analyze a dot plot

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to analyze and to create a dot plot. First we had to look at a dot plot that had data of how far the children from room 1 threw a tennis ball. The thing that what I got stuck was when Room 1 throwed between 14 and 19 but the thing that I got stuck on was I thought that all the balls were landing between 10 and 20. From that we then had to describe how the data from room 1s dot plot was gathered. Something I learnt how to do was analyze and also create a dot plot. Something that was tricky for me to do in this activity was explain what I saw or found in the two classes. Someone who helped me was Gail who is a student in my class and math group. Down below I will embed my screencastify so you can see what I’ve been doing. Have you done something like this before? Bye.

Build a marble run

In Te Ngahere we made a  marble run that can stop at 110 cm. We did this for the scientific method. Some of the year 8’s did it when they were in year 6. We first got into a group. My group was Jorjah  and Jaelyn-Marie.  Jorjah did this 2 years ago . The  materials  we got were lego blocks and cardboard  that Jorjah got from her house.  We used the lego blocks so we could  build  it  so it could  roll down. We flattened the cardboard because there would have been lumps and that would not be good and it would  get stuck between them. After we did that we got the cardboard, made it like a tube so it can go down. After we built the marble run we had to test it 10 times to see whether we were close and if it kept landing  in the same spot. If it was not even close to 110 cm we had to make a  adjustments  . Next weekend we have to let our friends  test our ramp 10 times.  We earned 5 points that is 110 cm then we got tested. Ours landed on the 5 two times then we got 3 three times. We rolled the the marble 5 times. Then we got 1 four more times. That was all of our rolls; we got 24 points. We came 2nd place and Dale and Dezray  were first with 25 points. They bet us by one point

Can we Follow Directions Carefully

In Te Ngahere on our first day of the term we have been doing directions which was a reading test. We did this because whaea Becks and whaea Chrissy so we read the hole instructions carefully. The whole class got a piece of paper but we were not aloud to look at  the paper until  the teacher said  and there were 23  questions and we had 4 minest. To do it all it was pretty insane then we started everyone was zooming to read it as fast as they can and everyone just went for the first one before doing anything we were supposed to read it all. But the fist one we had to read the first one really carefully. The second one Put your name in the right hand corner of this the paper and we had try to finish all of it be for the timer runs out of time but I was only upto the 11 and then only had 12 left. And then the time rain out so we all went to go set down on the mat then  Fire Beck's said to everyone that we all got it wrong but Jacobe nearly got it right. Because we had to read it all be for we do it and even Gina got it wrong too. And we had  to read it all be for we do anything. Have you did directions before.

Have you did Directions?
